IMMIGRANTS

My friend Sadia Feisal and I both born and raised in Pakistan, went to the same school and graduated 10th grade. In 1988, I migrated to USA and sometime after 2005, she migrated to Australia. We have not seen each other for 35 years. This painting is about me dreaming of us getting together for Teatime and catching up on time spent apart. I became an Artist and she an Educator (now she is in management) and we both are in a good place in our lives. Had we stayed in Pakistan, we would not have fared well. Lack of opportunity and resources got us where we are today.
